The partnership involves many components. There will a one off unique ‘the science behind Geocaching’ presentation offered up to 100 guests as well as two special tours on Thursday 28th March onsite at the huge Geoscience Australia complex in Symonston, Canberra. These free tours are strictly limited and numbers will be capped for safety and ensure registrants get close access.
Tour one: Time walk Geological Tour Walk 1.1 km through the landscaped gardens and discover Earth’s 4,600-billion-year geological history.
Tour two: National Mineral and Fossil Collection Get a behind-the-scenes tour of the world class collection of minerals and fossils, including items not normally on display and very few of the public have ever seen. A rare experience indeed. Plus a café stop and nearby Geocaches.
Geoscience Australia will also share free educational materials to be included in your registration packs at Canberra Park.
Competition
Next week, Geoscience Australia will announce a free Geocaching competition with prizes awarded in every state and territory in Australia to celebrate EarthCache Day and the start of Earth Science Week. Announcements planned Australia wide.
